rocket satellite dish I think I've been into astronomy and science fiction since the day I was born. I remember tutoring my fellow 5th-grade students when I thought the teacher was a yahoo, getting all the facts wrong. I was an expert even then, knowing about esoteric things like stellar evolution! I don't know what age I was when I ran out of fairy tales at the library -- probably 5 or 7? -- and the replacement I found was SF, which back then, in the Golden Age, was full of little lessons on astronomy. That's what sparked my interest. My interest in airplanes is connected, but somewhat superficial -- I just think jets, especially fighter jets, are beautiful!!

I love to read!! Science fiction and astronomy are on the back burner for now -- well, except for Roger Zelazny's Amber series -- while I'm immersed in mysteries. I love the "cozy" kind, probably because it lets me enjoy family life vicariously. :-) I'm not reading much non-fiction at the moment, but my interests are eclectic: most of what I learn is absorbed during debate with friends, primarily on Compuserve's Mensa Forum.

horse Pegasus I recently bought a digital camera, and my ultimate ambition is to take photos of galloping horses -- sans riders or saddles, since in my fantasy they'd be wild horses! Also Bengal tigers (my favorite) and lions, as well as any other big cats (or little ones). I'm a city girl, deathly afraid of bees and spiders, so I'm kind of confined to zoos. I've visited zoos in Evansville, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, and hope to get to a few more. I'm looking for one where I can take pix of the cats without any bars or other signs of captivity showing. I've succeeded with lions, but not with tigers. Yet. I just need to find the right zoo..... In the meantime, to see photos of humans that I know, click here.

Kitty2 And, of course, I love cats. You'll see photos of my current cats on the Photos page that this is linked to. I plan to become the neighborhood cat lady in another 50 years or so. (Not really, because it's not fair to the kitties to have that many in a single herd!) I only have two.

My music tastes are still stuck in the 50's for rock'n'roll, and in the 60s for folk music. I love acoustic guitar (Leo Kottke), and Peter, Paul & Mary are my favorite folk artists. I'm looking for new stuff in that style, but don't really know where to go. I also love classical music (but not opera). Tschaikovsky's Second Piano Concerto is my all-time favorite, sometimes tied with Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. Guitar

Scales I'm a Libra -- I don't believe in astrology, it's only coincidence that I match the profile so well! I love harmony, and I go nuts when those scales aren't in balance. :-)

Being female, I also love flowers, mainly roses......
